Our Philosophy

Carla McKenna & Benjamin Karsakis with village children

Carla McKenna has always had a deep underlying sense of responsibility to the world and the environment. She has never felt content just sitting back and earning money and success purely for her own wealth and comfort, and has always been compelled to somehow make a difference.
Having studied Architecture and also commencing studies in International Urban and Environmental management, she has learned of the intricacies and realities of poverty in the world, and also of environmental issues this world faces. She is determined that her love for travel, for photography and art can be utilized as her tool for change in the world.

Ben Karsakis, an avid people person and traveler, has also always been aware of a sense of injustice in the world. Having traveled extensively and spent many years overseas his understanding of cultures has developed and enticed him to use his fortunate place in this world to give something back. Having studied Building Design and Urban Design Ben has a heightened awareness of the places in which those in the third world live and how best our proceeds can support these people.

Together the team at Etica, Carla and Ben, have been gifted with a natural sense of creativity and way with the pencil, the paintbrush, the camera, with colour and with spaces. Together their talents and passions have collided to bring about the birth of the exciting project Etica. These talents and passions will create beautiful artworks that have a purpose, they bring colour to a room, to our lives and the spaces in which we live. Ben and Carla hope that Etica will inspire others to seek positive change in the world.

With your support this is just the beginning of an exciting journey that will enrich our lives, and the people and causes we so wish to support.
